Cedar Lake was discussed at the Inland Wetland and Watercourse Agency meeting at town hall this evening. Gina Rivezzi presented a very compelling case regarding Tilcon's recent approval by DEEP to discharge up to 2 million gallons of water per day through Cedar Lake. There is certainly cause for concern since the approval happened at the state level with no consideration at the local level. There are significant concerns being expressed by property owners on Cedar Lake Rd with regards to erosion and flooding and water quality concerns. The IWWA tabled the discussion to the next meeting and instructed wetlands enforcement officer Carey Duques to pursue Tilcon and DEEP for clarifications and resolution.

Gina Rivezzi, who owns property on the other side of Cedar Lake, has advised us that there will be a town meeting to discuss increased surface water diversion into Cedar Lake by Tilcon Connecticut, Inc.. If you have questions or concerns, you are encouraged to attend the meeting.
